You might have wondered what Travel Advisors do when they’re not assisting clients with their travel dreams. Working on their businesses would be a safe answer. While working on their business is a big part of their job, whether advertising, accounting, social media or a myriad of other duties, another big portion of their job is Education. You may not be aware, but every vendor that a Travel Advisor works with has their own training program that teaches about their products and offerings. In the case of cruiselines, they teach you about their fleet – each ship and each class of ship, locations they sail to, itineraries and additions they sell to make your cruise more special. In my instance, there are 40 different cruiselines, 45 land vendors, 6 shore excursion companies, 3 travel insurance companies and 7 transportation companies, a large amount of whom have their own individual education program. To be able to sell these products effectively and intelligently, it behooves us to make use of these programs so that we can better serve you, the public.

With that being said, since deciding to become a Travel Advisor in May of 2026, I would guesstimate that I have completed easily 150 hours of training and I still have more to go. These training programs make me an expert in each vendor which translates to giving you, the client, expert service in planning your dream vacation.

Thus far, I have completed training for American Cruise Lines, Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Cunard Line, Disney Cruise Lines, Holland America Lines, Margaritaville At Sea, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, and Viking Cruises . In addition, I have completed training for Adventures by Disney (which covers Disney World and Disneyland, Aulani Resort in Hawaii, Disney Cruises, and National Geographic – Lindblad Expeditions), and Viator (an excursion company). There are still many more company trainings I plan to complete so watch the Achievement section of my website for future additions.

If you are interested in learning more about what trainings I have completed, please go to the About page of my website – www.lilleytravelco.com and scroll down to the Achievement section I hope this will give you peace of mind that I can provide the expertise and knowledge needed to provide you with the best travel experience available, whether cruising, a land trip or combination!
